Houston Hand Specialist Evan D. Collins, M.D., Recognized as a 2012 Castle Connolly Top Doctor

Among the Leading Hand & Upper Extremity Surgeons in Texas, Dr. Evan Collins Achieves a Castle Connolly Status Reserved for the Top One Percent of Physicians in the United States

HOUSTON – Dr. Evan D. Collins, hand and upper extremity specialist and newly named director of the Methodist Hand & Upper Extremity Center at the Texas Medical Center achieves a status bestowed upon few hand specialists in the United States - Castle Connolly, America’s Top Doctor.

The honor comes on the heels of several significant achievements - including the publication of a research study in the scientific journal, Orthopedic Reviews; his selection to the advisory board of Center for Performing Arts Medicine; and his directorship of the Hand & Upper Extremity Center.

One of only 16 recognized Castle Connolly hand surgeons in Texas and one in just four in Houston, Dr. Collins is advancing innovative new treatments for many of the hand, wrist and elbow conditions affecting today’s society - from endoscopic carpal tunnel release and XIAFLEX injection therapy to joint reconstruction.

He is board certified and fellowship trained in surgery of the hand and holds a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College.   His extensive experience in his field and role in hand and upper extremity research and education has placed him within this elite Castle Connolly position.
